Post by Alucard on Thu Feb 15, 2018 9:40 pm

Quest:

Name: Spooky time after dark
Rank: B Rank
Location: Any major city
Description: It seems that some necromancers have been pillaging the graveyards around town to find some fresh corpses. We need you to go in the middle of the night and stop these mages. Be warned there are 3 of them in total, all 2-1 ranked. They can summon undead creatures of 2-1 and below to fight for them.
Rewards: 1,000 Gold

Alucard and Rue walked into the small militarized town of Taradrew keep with swords on their backs and sweat on their brows, well, on Rue's brow anyways. She was under a weight hex on her clothing and sword to help increase her strength and endurance. She had already shown steady improvement in their last few months of training, but she was still not ready to call herself a true warrior. Her clothes all weighed an additional 50 pounds per piece which added up to around 300 pounds, not to mention the sword which was hexed to weigh 100 pounds. This meant, she was lugging around 400 pounds everywhere she went. Alucard held the key to this hex and therefore could lift or increase it to match his whim. It would automatically increase by 5 each time her body got used to the weight. She had been putting in a lot of hard work in the time they had been training and it was showing. They stopped in the local inn to rest for a while and pick up a quest. This would be her proving ground, where she showed Alucard that she had been learning in the last few months and not just idling along. They picked up a quest put out by the local graveyard owner who claimed that Necromancer's came every night to raise the dead and practice illegal magic. Their task was to put an end to this in any way they seemed fit and the reward would be sufficient to start crafting her a suitable weapon. It was midday, so Alucard figured they could go to the hillside near the graveyard and rest, and by rest he meant that he would rest while she trained. She practiced the sword strokes he had taught her, using her blade and a free hand to add an unorthodox manner of attaining an advantage during a fight. She could grab and push with her free hand while attacking with the blade in her attacking hand, or she could use her free hand on the hilt of her blade to put more strength behind her attacks. She was beginning to get the hang of it and it may be time soon for Alucard to need to draw his own blade against her. Though this wasn't necessary yet. She had grown in strength a very pleasing amount and he would allow her to keep it up for a few more minutes before he told her to stop. It was time for them to prepare. He would wait nearby, unseen, while she would be in the graveyard to fight the evil mages. He would only step in should he be needed. But, he hoped she would be able to hold her own with her hex online, but he maintained focus so he could lift it at a moments notice. As the sun crept down, he kept an eye on his young protegee, she had grown a lot. He could tell she was interested in learning more about him, but he didn't want her to get more involved than she needed to be. He had contingency plans in mind, but he hoped they would never need to be enacted. He was broken from his musings when he spotted three hooded men approaching her position. This was it.

The three men approached Rue with obvious lust in their eyes. She simply ignored them and waited for something to happen. When one of them went to grab her, she swung her sword and removed his hand. Though she was sluggish to lift the blade back up and was kneed in the gut bu one of the man's cronies. "You whore! You think you'll get away with this?" The final man asked, his hands gaining a green glow. Suddenly three skeletons raised from the ground. One wielded a sword, one an ax and the final one a mace. The girl didn't lose her cool, she had been through much worse in her training. Alucard was a demon when it came to training... oh, if only she knew how right she was. She immediately blocked a downward slash from the sword skeleton and had to catch the handle of the ax with her free hand. It would seem this style of swordplay was useful after all. Using what little strength she had in her exhausted body, she maneuvered around the swing of the ax and managed to make the sword skeleton sever the head from the ax's handle. She was about to send a swing at the now dazed ax skeleton's head, when she was hit in the back with a mace. Seems she was struggling after all with the weights. Alucard lifted them and suddenly, Rue felt as light as a feather and it showed in her movements. She blocked an incoming jab of the mace and swung her sword so hard it cut right through the bone and plate-mail that the skeleton had been wearing. So that was one down, five enemies to go. Turning fast, she managed to behead the ax skeleton and then turned her attention to the sword skeleton. It would seem that things weren't going to be easy. They had a short duel, but in the end, her speed and strength won out and she managed to cut him in half at the base of the spine. Turning her attention back to the Necromancers, she found herself face to face with a small army of weak, unarmed skeleton. She immediately tore through them like a hot knife to butter. It took her mere minutes to tear through all of them. It would seem the three Necromancer's had agreed upon quantity over quality and now they would pay the price. She caught up with them and stabbed one through the heart. Yes, one of Alucard's first lessons was the art of killing and the reasons behind it. He taught her that here was no reason to avoid killing a soul that was evil. It was better to purge those souls from the earth, so that is what she did. When she had finished, she wiped off her blade and returned to where her teacher was waiting for her. Smiling she gave him a thumbs up, a job well done. He returned it, but at the same time added the weight hex back, and she fell flat on her face from the added weight. Yep, the sweet taste of victory.
