Arriving in the Kingdom of Ridbrad took only a few hours, flying had its perks after all. He immediately put on his cloak upon arrival, since the air was indeed quite frigid in the mountains. He would need to remember to give the leather worker a nice tip once he returned to Vandale. He arrived in the mountains to find it a vast desert of white, very few specks of green seen throughout the area. This was in between a few vast mountains that went high above the clouds. He landed and wandered around here for hours until the sun had descended behind the walls of the valley. He decided it would be a good time to get some sleep, so he set up his tent and made a small fire. The black haired man closed his eyes and would allow himself to sleep until the break of dawn. A few hours before the sun would peek over the mountain tops, Alucard was already packing up his camp and preparing for another day of searching for ruins. The misty grey of the morning still hung in the air as the red eye'd Demon walked through the valley. It seemed that his quest was fruitless so far, wandering through freezing temperatures looking for any sign of an ancient presence was not a simple task, but it was one that would bear a great fruit should he persevere. He had been walking for a while now and his stomach had started to growl. When he heard it, he realized that he would need to eat soon, but he was already through the rations he had brought with him. Suddenly, a very delightful scent entered his range of smell. It smelled of lightly seared flesh, being cooked over a fire. He allowed instincts to take over slightly as he followed his nose to a small village. It was built from pinewood, but some of the buildings were stone. Upon closer inspection, they appeared to be makeshift homes using an ancient ruin for the foundation for some buildings. This was just the lead he was looking for! He needed to find out more, entering the town he would immediately head to where the smell was coming from. It was a small tavern-esque building that had smoke billowing from its chimney. Once inside, he felt the warmth of the fire that his frozen features, it was nice to be inside. Walking over to the bar, he would take a seat and wait for the portly barmaid to come to him. "'Ello, not from around here are ye love? Name's Ellie, what'll ye 'ave?" It was a simple question and Alucard gave a simple answer, "Whatever that is that I can smell cooking and a fresh ale. I'd also like some information on the area if you'd be so kind." his voice was pleasant and kind, coaxing her to talk wouldn't be too difficult. "I'll see what i can do. What would ye like to know?" She would ask as she placed his food and drink down on the bar in front of him.

Thinking of all the questions he could ask, he also didn't want to get too specific as he didn't know how much these people knew of the artifact. "How old is this town? It seemed to have some pretty old foundations." The woman gained a thoughtful look, but then laughed lightly, "'tis an old village, though it was built on the ruins of an ancient city, said to have been the home of a powerful seer. Though war and vengeful conquest destroyed her and her home, driving her to live in the cave outside of the village. They say she still haunts the depths of the cave to this day! Well, that's the tale we tell the youngin's to keep 'em in line! Truth be told, no one dares enter the cave, they say its like a maze that you cant fin' yer way out of!" This all but caused Alucard to choke on the swig of ale he had just taken in, this proved his theory and made this all the more interesting. This "seer" obviously had the Eye, and so, were he to believe this tale, then the eye was hidden deep in this cave. Once he finished his meal, he would pay the woman, thank her and then leave with a fire burning in his step. It was time to put the years of research to the test. Once outside the village, he followed the instructions he got from the woman, taking her warnings with a grain of salt, as he was no mere human. It would be a difficult task, but not one that was impossible after all! He arrived to find the mouth of a massive cave was boarded up with even more warnings and death threats posted on the front. Drawing his blade, he would cut through the boards in a rectangular shape, leaving a door for himself to walk through. It was easy then, to simply waltz into the dark cave. Lighting a torch, he would follow the narrow passage way for a while before coming across his first sign of past life. There was some old pottery, an out of date form of currency and some pieces of a skeleton, though this was torn to pieces, meaning he was either murdered or killed by some kind of creature. Dank caves like this held all forms of possible adversaries, though none of them were high above his level. He would be able to realistically keep pup with and defeat anything he came across in this massive cave network. He was finding a lot of signs of the ancient civilization the farther into the ruin he got. He paid close attention to the numerous cave drawings and such, that seemed to actually mark this place as a tomb of some sort. It must be the tomb of the seer that the barmaid spoke of, but he would probably never know for sure as the cave writings were far from easy to decipher, most of them written in pieces or with aspects of an ancient and forgotten language thrown in, it was a wonder he gleaned as much information as he had so far. It would seem that he was in the right place, but he would have to pass a few "tests" to prove he is worthy to enter the final chamber which he assumed held his prize.

Re: Hunt for the Eye of Chaos -[Mythic Artifact Hunt]

He continued to make his way through the labyrinth of corridors, following what he could decode from the language on the wall which seemed a mix of the language of elves and dryads. He was glad he picked up pieces of those tongues through the years as it made this run much smoother. He recalled his time in the war, learning languages from his instructor, Lleven, who was an elvish scholar that he had been assigned to protect. He was a smart man, and taught Alucard many things, though he died in the end, as all mortals do. Either way, the Demon Lord was broken from his memories as he entered a vast chamber. It was very obviously carved from stone and had intricately designed tiles on the floor each with a different symbol. He took a step out and the tile he stepped on started to sink down. He was lucky to be fast enough to realize this and react by removing his foot before he triggered whatever trap that would set off. Looking more closely, he realized this test would be to step on the proper tiles to guarantee safe passage to the other side of the room where he saw a carefully designed archway waiting for him. Most people would have needed to spend a decade or more studying the walls of the previous corridors and gaining a proper grasp on the language before even dreaming of taking on this challenge, but unlike them, Alucard had access to wings. Sprouting his demonic wings, he would leap over to the other side, using his wings to provide a good amount of thrust. Once he landed, he entered the archway and made his way back into a maze of caves with more of the ancient language scribbled on the walls. It was in these next few hours, he came across a few more skeletons that had some strange garb, obviously from the ancients, and if he were to guess, these were the holy men who blessed the tomb before sealing it. But, obviously, they were sealed away as well. Whether this particular happening was a part of their plan, he would most likely never know, nor would he care. He only had one reason for coming here and he wasn't leaving until he had answers regarding the artifact. AS he waled he accidentally triggered a spike trap that caused spears to jut from the walls. He was forced to cast his Shadow Tendril Spell to catch all of the spears and break them before they were able to come close to harming him. This was not the first trap he had encountered thus far, nor was it likely to be the last. He eventually came across a gate that seemed to be sealed shut with a boulder, but he could see the inner workings of some ancient mechanics. if one applied the right combination to the three stones sitting nearby, most likely by turning them in their alcoves to have a certain symbol facing out, then the door would open. Alucard tried to bypass this, but it would seem even with his current strength, the door was sealed with magic. So, he would be forced to play this little game. The symbols he saw were a boat, a fire and a skull. He decided to do a bit of pondering on these things before he made a decision on which was the correct symbol. He had deduced that only one symbol was required but it must match all three stones. Seer's often talked of the river of reality and time that flows and allows them to see into the future or even to see deceased loved ones. So it could be the boat, but he wouldn't choose yet. They also have a practice of throwing things into fire to see visions in the resulting smoke, so this could also be it. Finally, they also had a habit of producing chicken bones or even bones of deceased relatives to read into one's future love life, career or even their destiny. All three options made some degree of sense, but he needed to pick the right one. Thinking more, he realized it was possible that the trap here could kill him should he not get this right, so for the first time in roughly 300 years, the Lord of Demons felt the slight tinge of fear. So, process of elimination was out. He needed to find something else to help him, so he went to work decoding the walls around him looking for any sort of clue or even a picture similar to the ones on the stones. He was actually able to decode a bit of it, though it took him what felt like a day. It was a simple prayer from what he was able to figure out, 'To Nytos we pray, watch over our lady as she rides to meet Enos. May she find rest and peace in his dark embrace, may her life pay the toll for her passage.' This was a rough translation granted, but it narrowed it down. quite a bit considering you cant ride skulls or death and you can't ride fire. So, he turned all the stones to show the boat symbol and slowly the door slid open. Making his way inside, he was met with a boat, much like the one from the puzzle before, resting on the bank of a slow moving river. He would step inside and set himself afloat on the river moving downstream. After several moments, he landed at a small area of land that had a stone circle laid in the ground with a single pedestal in its center. It was engraved with ancient writings and runes, that he would never be able to figure out. Nearby, he noticed a coffin with an intricately carved stone figure of a woman on the lid. This must be the final resting place of the seer. Looking at the pedestal, he felt an inexplicable urge to do something. He noticed a very intricately carved dagger held tightly to the womans chest, so he reached and took it. Slicing the skin on his hand, he would allow his blood to fall into the water on the pedestal, watching as it mixed, he would then wash his face in it. When he pulled back, he felt a burning behind his right eye, when he looked down, it had an intricately designed symbol inside of it, that matched was was designed on the stone circle he stood on. It was something that he realized was the Eye of Chaos, as he was suddenly made aware of many things all at once, almost too much for his mind to keep track of, but he managed it. He would sink into the shadows to exit the cave, as he now knew there was no exit. Arriving back outside, he allowed the eye to fade into a dormant state until he called it again, this was something amazing. It was now time to head to Saridel Peak to seek out Beleg.
