Myths of Skyshard

Post by Beleg on Mon Feb 12, 2018 6:39 pm

Below, you will find a list of legendary items and places that have been lost to the ages. Such things are extremely rare, however, and are exceedingly powerful. Many adventurers will go their entire lives not hearing even the quietest rumor of their locations.

Philosopher's Stone:

The most powerful of all Mythic Artifacts, since it was created in conjunction by ALL the Deities, this stone has the ability to grant a single wish per time it is found before disintegrating and reforming in hiding once again. It can grant almost any wish, such as bringing someone dead back to life, granting money, or power, even a limited form of immortality.

To gain immortality, one must "renew" this once per every THREE OOC MONTHS by killing an NPC. The same goes for "infinite magic."

It should be noted that this does NOT allow one to go above tier caps. And if one wishes for "more power" you can only get a maximum of two sub tiers per wish. (i.e: +_-2)

Cloak of Sparda:

This cloak is able to hide anyone that it covers from any method of detection other than touch. It masks scent, sight, hearing, and taste. It also hides one's magical presence.

Eye of Chaos :

Upon finding the hidden chamber this is located in, it immediately manifests in the users RIGHT EYE. User can see/view into the true chaotic state that makes up existence/reality, allowing them to know how everything in existence comes together and connects, see past any/all falsehoods and lies and anything that is normally hidden/obscured/unknown would be laid completely bare to them including the true forms of any/all eldritch and cosmic other creatures/entities.

Since at its most basic level reality is made up of an endless sea of chaos and turmoil, the user would gain complete understanding of all things in existence/reality and possibly even beyond.

This allows one to see through any magical disguise, (Aside from the Cloak of Enos), see any magical barrier, increases one's perception and speed tracking to a near precognitive level, the ability to see through any lie or deception and know true motivations, The ability to find anyone regardless of where they are, (unless they are under the effects of the Cloak of Enos).

Sword of Beleg:

The Sword of Nytos

Name: Sword of Nytos
Type: Single-Handed Longsword
Tier: ???
Rank: SS
Materials: Unknown

Appearance:

Enchantment:

Divine Creation: The Sword of Beleg is an inherently divine creation, and as such it is impossible to damage with any means, mortal or immortal. It has no sheath, and is summoned by it's owner through their own soul.

(Mythic) Sword of Creation: Divide Between Heaven and Earth: The Sword of Beleg is able to cut through any material in this world, and has access to a unique SS-Ranked spell that destroys anything along the arc of the slash, slicing through the fabric of creation and reverting an area to the primordial state of creation in a cone 100 meters outward and 20 meters wide. The area is covered in glacial ice frozen at absolute zero and magma as hot as the sun for a period of five posts before settling, and is permanently scarred by the damage. Any NPC or creature caught within the arc is obliterated, and Player Characters suffer two times S-Rank damage.

Serphi's Shield:

Name: Serphi's Shield.
Type: Magical Shield
Tier: ???
Rank: SS
Materials: Unknown, potentially divine magic.
Appearance: [above]
Enchantment:
Divine Creation: Created through purely divine means, it is unable to be destroyed by any means, though it is incredibly taxing on its wielders, even those of a divine nature, so it can only be maintained for 5 posts at a time with a 5 post cooldown. It is even able to block other Mythic/Divine weapons without damage, though each hit is still powerfully felt. It is summoned in front of the users hand from a magical glyph in the shape of the shield itself.

Spear of Leonitus:

Name: Spear of Leonitus
Type: Long Pole-arm.
Tier: ???
Rank: SS
Materials: Unknown
Appearance:  [above]
Enchantment: Divine Creation: A spear wielded by the first ever Spartan himself, this weapon is of divine nature and cannot be damaged by any means. It is summoned from the wielders soul when needed.

War Song: This spear has two abilities, the first being that the spear is able to stretch to a total length of 100 meters with enough force to pierce a mountain. The second ability is that when the spear is thrown, it never misses its mark, though it does not automatically return to it's wielder, it can only be held by its finder, until the one who found it relinquishes control or dies.

Sword of Astolpho:

Name: Agni
Type: Shortsword
Tier: ???
Rank: SS
Materials: Unknown
Appearance: [Above]
Enchantment:
Divine Creation: This blade was crafted by Astolpho on the celestial plane from the core of a star and with flames a million times hotter than the sun. It cannot be destroyed. It is not carried, but is instead summoned forth from the owner's very soul.

Ignite: When drawn from its sheathe, the blade of the sword is actually made of fire. The user is also coated with a slight aura of fire. Once drawn, its destructive power increases exponentially and it is able to set anything it touches ablaze. It is also able to send blasts or waves of fire from the swing of its sword.

Scythe of Alucard:

Name: Eternity
Type: Scythe
Tier: ???
Rank: SS
Materials: Unknown
Appearance: [Above]
Enchantment:

Divine Creation: It cannot be destroyed due to being crafted by the Goddess of Death.  It is summoned from the soul of the user.

Shadow of Death: When it is brought onto the battle field, all present feel the weight of death bearing down on them. This is even true for those who are immortal/divine beings. This boosts the owners Spiritual pressure by +0-2 and can deplete morale of any who would face it in battle.

Staff of Luck:

Name: Tempora
Type: Staff
Tier: ???
Rank: SS
Materials: Unknown
Appearance: [Above]
Enchantment:

Divine Creation: Cannot be damaged or destroyed as it cannot be the bearer of misfortune.

Inducing Charm: When drawn, the user is unable to be effected by anything considered a "status effect" and cannot be hit with any non-divine projectiles.

Re: Myths of Skyshard

These mythical objects may only be found through questing for them specifically, and whether or not the quest is successful is determined through a dice roll. This roll is out of 100, and one must roll above a 70 in order for the quest to be successful.

One can lower this threshold in several different ways. Doing three posts of research into an artifact in a separate thread from your quest will allow you to be successful with a score of 60, and one may write 1 post of outfitting themselves properly for such an endeavor by spending 1,000 gold in order to lessen the threshold by an additional ten to require a minimum score of 50 out of 100 in order to be successful. Please note that these preparations must be done each time one performs a roll and undertakes the quest.

Site staff will look over the preparations and quest itself to approve the final acquisition, and ensure that the standard of writing is acceptable. Staff do have the final say in whether or not someone gets a Mythic Item, regardless of whether or not the roll was successful. This means that if the quality of writing impresses one of us, we may allow you to re-roll even if you have failed, this time with a lowered threshold, or even give you the item outright. The inverse of this is that if we determine your effort to be sub-par, if you argue one of our decisions, or if the standard of writing just isn't enough, you will not succeed. Keep this in mind.

One might also be gifted an artifact from the Gods. This only happens if one has a direct relation or some form of item from the particular gods/artifacts life. Such as a peice of Beleg's armor or being bloodkin to Beleg to summon his blade. The chances of being granted the item are low, you must roll above 80 out of 100 with NO way of lowering the threshold if you do it this way.
