A War-Torn Camp (Open)

Post by Beleg on Sat Aug 25, 2018 11:34 pm

Careful not to wake the gorgeous, raven-haired elf that was sharing his bed, Beleg slipped out from under the covers of the comfy nest he had made on the ground with blankets and furs. Slipping on his trousers and beginning to tie on his boots, he looked in the mirror briefly and frowned. His right eye blazed crimson, and a spiky lock of golden hair rose defiantly from it's black surroundings. He must have had another episode in his sleep, as he saw a few streaks of the same gold that weren't there before. His father had given him two years, but the skirmishes here and there had only served to prove that the two years was if he wasn't doing much more than light training to keep himself in shape. A war of this size seemed to be shortening his life span every time he drew his blade. Gritting his teeth and ignoring the pain, he managed to force the divine energy back down and turn himself back to his normal appearance before continuing to clothe himself.

Before he could grab his tunic and put that on, a pair of slender hands rubbed up along the scars made by his wings and across his well-muscled chest as a sultry voice spoke in his ear. "Well, handsome, where do you think YOU'RE going?~"

Chuckling, the Knight-Commander of Ridbrad spun around and gave the naked elf a brief kiss before responding. "Well, after Ruzzoll decided he wanted to join the encampment personally and brought his retinue, including yourself, my duties expanded. You're not the only noble whose moaning I have to deal with, love."

Nera pouted as his undertunic went on, hiding her eye-candy as he continued to put on his overtunic and sword belt. They didn't get to see each other too often, and the amount of time they could spend alone in an army encampment was next to zero. Even so, she knew what he said was true, and that he really did need to go and interact with the troops, just as she was technically supposed to be camping with the rest of the nobility and was late to one of THEIR 'meetings', which ultimately devolved to speaking about their 'courtly affairs' and which soldiers caught their eyes. Deciding to give him hell later, she began getting dressed and called after him as he left the tent. "Don't you dare leave me alone with them all day, my gallant knight!"

Chuckling at his lover's half-worried, panic-induced threats, Beleg adjusted Vigilance and began looking around the camp for two specific individuals. Word was that the Seige of Syryen Valley was over, after a single unit tore the enemy to shreds. Where Ruzzoll and the other commanders had seemed confused, Beleg couldn't help but grin.

Alucard was back, and the triplets would fight alongside one another for the first time in over half a millennium.

Sparda had taken to being one of the few who actually kept watch during the nights at their camp. He had no need for sleep like the mortals did, so he used his time more usefully than some other spirits might have. When dawn began to break, he would move to return the the camp he created with his magic, it was rather large, to be able to handle all the troops that were there in addition to the added troops from the dwarf king's arrival. He landed just outside of said tent as there were usually meetings of some sort in the mornings and he had nothing better to do than to attend them. He leaned on the wall next to the door to wait for the meeting to be called. He had yet to actually talk very much to his brother Beleg since they returned from the pure land as they almost immediately got caught up in the battles and such for the war. He had heard however that Alucard had made his grand return and would no doubt  be arriving in their camp any day now. So that was something to look forward to because at the very least, his eccentric brother would liven the place up a bit. He also presumed that the three would have a bit of a meeting on their own as Beleg had yet to disclose what all his father had talked about in their private meeting, not that Sparda had asked, he had long since given up on attaining his fathers favor over his two brothers whom it seemed to fall on naturally. He couldn't say he didn't resent them for it but he would say that it wasn't their fault that he played favorites. Either way, he would simply be waiting outside of the battle headquarters for the commencement of the meeting.

Beleg lazily strode towards the command tent, soldiers saluting as he passed. Dodging the guards returning from their shifts, he quickly noticed Sparda standing by the entrance to the tent. Smiling, he leisurely made his way to his wayward brother, and stopped next to him in order to wait for the meeting to start. "Sparda, it really is good to see you. I wish we hadn't had to be separated, but Father explained everything. I'll have to brief both you and Alucard later. My tent, half an hour after we're done here."

Beleg genuinely cared for both of his brothers. He'd always acted like the oldest of them, despite the fact that they were quite literally born at the exact same time, and tried to make sure his siblings were happy no matter what.

Hopefully, Sparda remembered that despite his sour outlook.

Sparda simply let out a light 'hmmph' in response to his brother's statement. He would simply motion his head toward the tent where a few individual generals from the collective armies were chatting with the king of the dwarves. He wouldn't bother waiting for his brother to enter first, if the man didn't go right in, he would take the lead. As soon as he entered the room lit by several lanterns, the first thing he noticed was the world map with an almost holographic magical display just above it giving rise to mountains and cities, this map took up the entirety of the table that the military officials all sat around. He wouldn't sit, but would stand off to the side. From the corner of his eye, he could see several of the men looking at him with hints of either mistrust, appreciation or an appraising eye as though trying to determine if he was friend or foe. In the end game, he was simply doing as commanded by his father, so he was neither. But, at the moment, he was much more friend than foe. He could see that the roughly fifteen men in the room, including himself and Beleg, were hardened warriors, even the king was clearly one who you didn't want to start things with. But, he didn't care much at all for the mortals as it was not his job to do so... or so he thought.

As soon as the meeting was about to commence, a feeling of dread would wash over the room. The lanterns, while lit, would appear to dim as the shadows seemed to grow in size and might from the corners of the room. A few of the delegates there moved to guard king Ruzzoll, who also looked tensed and alert, ready for battle. From one of the darker shadows, a figure rose that seemed to be made of the very shadows he came from. The dark covering would seep off of him though and the lighting would change back to normal and the feeling of dread would lessen significantly, but held its place in the back of the minds of those present. In the place of the shadow figure now stood a tanned skin man with messy brown hair and golden eyes. He wore an ornate white cape, but no undershirt. His clothes and what little armor he had on were adorned with gold and gems that were not to be found on the mortal plane. He would offer a light wave before moving to stand at the head of the table, directly across from the Dwarf king. "Alucard Antetillius, King of Hell, God of Destruction, reporting for duty." He ignored the looks of fear and confusion from the faces of the mortals around the table. He did appreciate the look of recognition from king Ruzzoll, but he had no doubt the man didn't recognize is current, true, form. The man probably doubted he was who he claimed to be, and he had a feeling that Beleg, who he could feel entering the tent at the moment this all went down might not recognize him either. He supposed he would wait and see.

Beleg stepped into the tent in front of Sparda, who hadn't seemed to get the stick out of his ass quite yet, before freezing in the entryway, preventing the Nephalem from entering for the briefest of moments before lancing forward at inhuman speeds and crushing his brother in a hug. Letting the Lord of Daemons go, the Knight-Commander would walk over to the table and begin adjusting the image and changing troop movements silently, with not even King Ruzzoll interrupting him until he was done.

Stepping back, Beleg smirked before speaking. "I apologize for the lack of explanation, but the latest information and...additions required changes in strategy that were not accurately represented. Our next target is Taradrew Keep, where the last of Belanor's generals resides. The man is honorable, and is likely the only member of Belanor's inner circle who is a member of the Knight's Guild of Ganenmarsh. This may be out of necessity, as he is the Knight-Commander. Taradrew Keep itself is going to be well-guarded, and contains information and supplies that are vital for our war effort."

Sighing, Beleg's tone became somber, as if he didn't want to even think of what would come next. "I contacted Sir Faralas, the general himself, in an attempt at a peaceful outcome. While he does not agree with his king, he is duty-bound to defend Taradrew Keep to the last man, and was ordered to fight until he is torn to pieces if necessary. Honor dictates that we respect his wishes."

From his tone, it would be clear that said wishes included what amounted to a glorified massacre, which was reflected in the troop movements he had arranged on the enchanted map. "Taradrew Keep has several weak points in its walls that I've marked down from memory, as I've visited Faralas there in the past during times of peace. There are three in particular that will take little effort to crush, bringing down large enough sections that the entirety of both of our allied Knight's Guilds can enter. A small strike force led by myself will attack the main gate, providing a distraction and preventing escape. There will be no regular infantry, archers, or mages among our ranks. This is a battle between knights, and we will treat it as such until the end."

From the way that Beleg looked at his brothers, it would be clear that they would be the other members of his strike force. In all honesty, the three of them were one-man armies on their own, and together?

There are some things even the gods feared.

Sparda watched as his brothers shared a moment of being reunited. He simply offered a nod to the dark skinned spirit, not needing to personally greet him as h had already had their little reunion on the other side. He would then move to look over the table with their strategy on it. He could see where he would be most useful as well as where his brothers would come in the most handy. He was not much of an up close fighter, though he supposed he wouldn’t need to be very good at it if he was only fighting common mortals. Their weakness would make this too easy. He would nod again, “I trust the judgement of my brothers. I will be getting prepared.” He would then leave the tent to stand outside. He had no need to sit through the discussion he could handle any fight against those in the walls of that city. He also needed to prepare himself for the meeting with his brothers later. He didn’t know what to expect but he hoped it was as serious as it had been made to sound.

Re: A War-Torn Camp (Open)

Post by Alucard on Thu Aug 30, 2018 1:38 pm

Alucard barely had a chance to say anything before he was enveloped in a hug tighter than he had when he had met his father. He returned it, he didn’t know how long it had been since he had last seen his brother, it felt like years but he had no idea. He could sense Rue within the camp, so she had managed to get in touch with Belen, good. He would make it a point to go see her soon. After watching his brother put his tactical mind to work, and his other brother simply leaving Alucard couldn’t help but sigh, it would seem it would take more time after all. But, either way, he was glad to be back on the mortal plane, at least for a while. He cast a glance over to the king who was warily watching him, while also listening to Belegs presentation. It was clear the man had something to say but was holding it until the end, he wondered what it could be. He had less interactions with Ruzzoll when he was alive than Beleg, but enough that he had always been mostly welcome in the man’s court, but also always welcome in the kingdom. Though he supposed with his change of appearance and new occupation, it wouldn’t be unnatural for any mortal to be uneasy about his arrival. And to think, he hadn’t even released his energy yet, that he was keeping a tight leash on.
