Welcome to Hell

Post by Alucard on Mon Feb 26, 2018 1:48 pm

Death. Accodring to the Vatican, once a person dies, they are immediately placed into a new body created specifically for the land that they will reside in the rest of their afterlife. A body that does not decay, nor can it be destroyed. Those that end up in the Pure world enjoy a life full of joy and pleasures, being able to do anything they had ever dreamed of. While at the same time, those damned to the underworld were doomed to an afterlife of suffering and nightmares. Well, as a matter of fact, Alucard, the Eldest Demon prince, could tell you this was all complete bullshit. From the moment he died, he was not in a place he would consider to be pure, but neither was he in a place described as hell. No, he was simply falling through an empty, black, void. But it wasnt a void for long, no, it started reliving his life. He could see memories passing him by as he fell, each progressing farther and farther in his long lifetime. As he fell he was immediately made aware of the most searing, painful feeling he had every felt in his lifetime. It started at the tip of his right hands fingers. Looking over, he saw them slowly dissolving away. The feeling spread to his feet, looking down, he saw them dissolving too. He heard a voice in his mind. "Why did you struggle?" He didnt understand, but he was having a hard time concentrating with the immense pain he was feeling. "Why did you fight?" There it was again, the same disembodied voice from before. He didnt know what it was talking about, his fight with the Saint? Was this divine punishment for killing a man of the gods? "Why did you suffer?" What was the point of these meaningless questions?! By now he was just a torso with four stumps and a head. His limbs having dissolved to their joints. His pain was almost to the point that it was unbearable. He realized now that the memoroes focused on his time with his brother, Beleg. The time they met, the time they went to war, their training together. He then skipped forwards years later, meeting Rue. It was all positive memories until he got to his last few memories before death. His body was now simplu a torso with a head and the bottom, waist area was fading fast. "Why did you live?" The voice chimed in his mind, he finally understood. What was his reason for living the life that he did. Why did he die. What did he value while alive. What made him sacrifice himself? Finally it hit him, his life had always been about loving and defending those he cared for. "I lived for them!" He focused now on bringing his body back together. He would find ways to protect the few he cared about, even in death. His body slowly started to reform, though this process was much more painful than when it had been dissolved,  but he stayed conscious throughout the experience. He needed to stay strong for his loved ones.

Re: Welcome to Hell

Drawing his body together at a slow pace, he was back to falling through pure darkness. He was unable to see or hear or feel anything but the burning pain of attempting to put his body back together, molecule by molecule. It would probably be easier if his healing factor was working, but it most certainly was not. He was on his own as it were. Using pure concentration one would only have after an insanely long life. He could feel each bit of tissue slowly sewing itself together and each muscle, bone, tendon and organ slowly reforming. The only difference, is that through this pain and destruction, he could feel the refurbishing and strengthening of what he had, and the creation of something new. Something stronger than he had ever dreamed he would achieve, something stronger than he ever could have achieved through life. He was also given knowledge that he had not had during life, knowledge of weapons and magics he had never heard of. He instinctively started to learn things that he never knew, was this all due to his new body? It was amazing, he felt a headache coming on as his mind processed and learned all of this information instantaneously. He could feel that his body was nearing completion, his limbs having almost entirely reformed. He was still falling though, but he felt as though he could see the light at the end of this pit, as it were. Turning his body to look downwards, he could see a feint white glow beneath him. He readied himself for whatever may await him in the hell he had fallen into. He continued falling for several minutes before he felt his body finish and he regained full movement to his limbs and extremities. Turning in the air, he prepared to land in whatever strange place this hole led to. When he finally finished his descent, he fell into a vast white expanse he could only aptly describe as purgatory. Looking around, he could see a massive city in the distance, which looked out of place if he were honest. Looking up, he could not see the hole he fell through, just a vast white sky. Deciding that his best bet was to head to the vast city he could make out in the distance, Alucard would set out on foot. From what he could see and feel, he still had access to all of his magic from life, but his weapon hadn't been brought with him. Though, he could still feel the Eye of Chaos power within himself. So somethings carried over whilst others did not? typical. He decided that once he made it to the city and got himself set up with a house and some income, he would begin working on finding a way back to the living world. After several hours of walking, he made it to the main gates of the city. There were two guards there, holding spears with glowing embers for their blades. Both guards immediately bowed to him as he approached, "Prince Alucard, we have been awaiting your arrival. Your home has been all set up, our king hopes that it suits you." So while he was immensely confused, he did as they said and followed the road to where his supposed house was. Then he saw it, just off the roadway was a vast mansion. This must be his house, maybe Hell wasn't all that bad, when you were a Demon Prince anyways.
